Good morning, Hopkinton! Welcome to the daily update we call Hopkinton Today — a quick recap of yesterday’s news, highlights of what’s on tap, and a photo and video of the day.

Electric Youth, the teenage song-and-dance troupe based at the Franklin School for the Performing Arts, returns to the Hopkinton Town Common this Sunday as part of the Concerts on the Common series. It marks a homecoming for the group’s two Hopkinton residents, Finley Doherty and Erin Belger.

The town’s Department of Public Works announced that College Street will be closed from house number 23 to 35 (at the Holliston town line) on Thursday and Friday of this week. The reason for the closure is the need to replace a large failing metal corrugated drain pipe.

Greyhound Friends is celebrating International Dog Day with a fun gathering of friends and neighbors, dog people and especially dogs on Saturday, Aug. 27, from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. at the facility at 167 Saddle Hill Road. The organization also is hosting a redeemable can/bottle drive in hopes of raising enough money to purchase a riding mower.

Town meetings today include the Select Board (3 p.m.), Board of Appeals (7) and Trails Coordination & Management Committee (7:30).

Photo of the Day: Members of the Hopkinton High School unified track and field team pose at Fenway Park, where they were recognized prior to the Red Sox game this past Saturday for their recent state championship.
